NYE Masquerade Featuring Psalm One & Angelenah
NYE Masquerade Featuring Psalm One & Angelenah
Psalm One and Angelenah have positioned themselves as the core of the Rapperchicks(visionary producer Ill-Esha rounds out the supergroup), and in a few short years have literally altered the definition of the "all-female-rap-outfit". With awe-inspiring, even shockingly personal lyrics, the ladies have amassed a faithful, loving following and are forging a legendary path.

Their rock-heavy debut "Shitty Punk Album" boasts a stellar cameo from none other than 36 Mafia's Gangsta Boo and their spectacular 8 show stint at last year's SXSW festival in Austin promises the ladies are amazing... and just getting started.

Word is, they've completed another full project and a new live show, showing no signs of slowing down. The Rapperchicks are simply extraordinary; proving that chicks who are rappers can do whatever the f*ck they want. See them live. Hear their music. Now.
James Cam'Ron
For 28-year-old Chicago-raised artist James Cam’Ron, the interplay of community has always proven central to everything he does, and the turn up has always been real. While many get into music or art to prove something, Cam’Ron’s foray into the sonic waves of the world was instead a natural outgrowth of the world he found himself occupying on a day to day basis. Steadily nestled amongst a cross-section of talented, alternative-leaning hip-hop acts during the early days of the Chicago Renaissance, the Englewood native learned to play his part, observe and study while working on his own thematics to offer to the world.
The AWTHNTKTS (AW•THN•T•KTS) have been on their grind to spread the all-out fuckery that remains so persistent in their music and live performance. Striving off the strength of ION's release of "Coordinates" in December 2011, The AWTHNTKTS are quickly becoming the face of Iowa City Hip-Hop, opening for independent artists such as Freddie Gibbs, Prof, Louis Logic, Open Mike Eagle, Black Milk, Mac Lethal, Carnage the Executioner, Ceschi Ramos, No Bird Sing, DJ Abilities, and Kristoff Krane. Each member falls into their own realm of lyrical wit & conduct with a common goal to put Iowa City back on the map for local AND touring Hip-Hop heads. In anticipation of the debut release of "Concrete Pillows" from Iowa City veteran johndope and "Drifter" from Romulan which is also scheduled to drop in 2013, The AWTHNTKTS are eager to show the world how hip hop is done in the heart of the nation. In collaboration with Iowa City's own WFKU radio and illstillsmile productions.
